The Hermès Oran sandals in Gold Epsom is the most iconic Hermès sandal in the maison's contemporary footwear catalogue. The Oran — named for the Algerian city, and introduced in 1997 — is the maison's classic slip-on flat sandal with the iconic H-cutout strap across the foot. It has become one of the most universally recognised pieces of luxury footwear in the world: at any beach club from Saint-Tropez to Capri to Tulum, the Oran is the de facto luxury summer sandal. It is currently among the most over-allocated of all Hermès small leather goods. Gold is the warm honey-tan that has been part of the Hermès palette since the original 1984 Birkin commission — it develops a beautiful amber patina with wear and pairs particularly naturally with the warm summer-light context the Oran was designed for.
